Comments:I am visiting Oklahoma City the 2nd week in September and plan on going up to the grave site at Wetumka. I'm interested in getting in touch with Robert Jackson at this time if possible. I thought very highly of Moses and he was killed just after I left the unit. For trivia, I am a graduate of OU, class of 52. Would enjoy hearing from you.

Comments:One of my best childhood memories is of Leslie. He had a jenny and cart and would come around and give the kids rides. I was too young to understand what happened at the time but I now know what a great sacrifice he made for his country and what a great loss to those whose lives he touched.

Comments:Leslie was a few years older than me in school but I remember when he went to Viet Nam and when we learned of his death. It was a sad day for everyone in Wetumka. I felt so sorry for his parents. So much promise gone at such a young age. It really brought home the meaning of death to a 16 year old.

Comments:Once again, on this Memorial Day, I come to remember my cousin that was killed from hostile fire while on a helicopter during a Medivac mission in Viet Nam. I was a young child, but remember so clearly the day the family was notified of his death. Thank you to Leslie and all others that lost their lives in war.
I loved you!

Comments:Tomorrow I will attend the funeral of my dear friend Leslie’s mother, Avis Moses, in Wetumka. I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with Leslie, in band and hanging out at his home where he taught me many things including how to built model airplanes and cars. Avis worked with my mother and was always the sweetest, kind and upbeat person I knew. Each time I saw her she wanted a big hug. Avis was 97 years old. Leslie was a couple of years older than me but he always treated me well. I was overwhelmed when I heard of his death and remember going to see him at the funeral home and was taken by the military casket and escort that was sent to stay with him on his journey. Over half a century has passed but I still cherish the memories I have of Leslie and his wonderful family. Rest In Peace my friend.

Comments:I come again to honor my cousin, Leslie, that gave his life at the age of 20 years old. My summers of climbing the apple tree at our Aunt Orpha’s, or the hide-n-seek games were never the same.
I think of him so often but grateful I have this place to place my memories and respect.
His Mom just joined him in heaven a few weeks ago so I’m sure they are celebrating!
